Pullman Wine Pub

The Pullman is the new hi-end hotel from the Accor group. Actually, the Pullman is the first of its kind in the world. It is located next to the King Power shop/ office near Victory monument. The Pullman opened a wine pub and it has become a huge hit. The place is enourmous, the food and drinks are very affordable and good. Another great aspect of the wine bar is that the prices are 'net'. You never have to calculate the crazy + + policy of hotels.

We actually were going to have dinner at the Pullman's Deja Vu, the fine dining restaurant, but our friends were running late, so we decided to have a few tapas and drinks while waiting. The first tapas was tepenade. We ordered two glasses of chardonnay. The price for each glass of wine was 120 baht net. Very reasonable.

The first tapas was tapenade. This tapendade was freshly made and for sure not from a bottle. You could tell from the texture and flavour. The tapas came with long thin bread freshly toasted, a very nice touch.

The second tapas was beef carpaccio. Fresh raw beef with nice burgundy colour, but the beef was lacking in flavour. Well presented and put together with rocket and parmesan shavings.

The third tapas was sauted calamari. A very nice dish with fresh calamari and olive oil. Good herbs and green & red bell peppers.

Overall, the tapas at the Pullman Wine Pub are very good and good value for money. One the first places to offer such a deal. This is getting to be a very popular hang out for many people. On weekend, you cannot get a table even though the place is huge. I probably keep going back until I try all their tapas.
